This seminar is a follow up to the initial Revenue Recognition last winter. In this seminar, you will receive a high lever recap of the entire standard. Then there will be a deeper look at what you need to do to prepare for implementation.
In 2014, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued a revenue recognition standard named ASU 2014-09, Revenue from Contracts with Customers. The new standard applies to almost all industries. For most private companies, the standard becomes effective for calendar years 2019. As revenue is one of the most important factors when measuring the performance and health of your Company, it is important that management understand how the standard will affect their financial statements and what they must to do to be in compliance.
Topics include:
An understanding of how to implement
Some internal controls to help implement
How to calculate the WIP with multiple performance obligations
Changes in presentation to the financial statements
